Accredited Temperature & Speed Verification

Accredited Temperature & Speed Verification for S. Himmelstein Transducers

This specialized service enhances our standard 10-point calibration by first verifying transducer performance against real-world environmental factors like heat and high speeds, ensuring your data is accurate under its true operating conditions. The OEM Advantage: Why Factory Calibration is Superior

As the original equipment manufacturer, we have an unmatched understanding of every transducer we build. Our unique position allows us to not only identify temperature-related effects but to correct them at the component level—a level of precision impossible for any third-party lab. You are not just getting a calibration; you are getting a factory-validated performance guarantee.

What is a 10-Point Calibration?

The foundation of our service is the 10-point, bi-directional calibration. The transducer is loaded at ten distinct torque points in both increasing and decreasing directions (CW and CCW). This process meticulously characterizes the transducer’s linearity, hysteresis, and repeatability, forming the basis of its performance certification.

Verifying Performance Against Environmental Factors

A standard calibration in a controlled lab doesn’t account for the environmental stresses of your application. Our enhanced service systematically addresses these factors before the final calibration.

1. Thermal Characterization (+75°F to +175°F)
We cycle your transducer through a range of elevated temperatures to verify its strain gage bridge performance. If any thermal-induced deviation is detected, we apply proprietary compensation techniques to bring it into compliance.

2. Rotational Speed Verification
Next, your transducer is run at its maximum rated speed for 30 minutes. This confirms that sustained rotation and dynamic effects do not introduce output variations that would be missed by a static test.

The Final, Validated Calibration

Only after the transducer’s performance is confirmed under thermal and rotational stress do we perform the final, official 10-point calibration. This ensures the data on your ISO 17025 accredited certificate reflects the transducer’s true performance in its intended environment.

The Compliance Option: As-Found/As-Left Data

For applications requiring a complete audit trail, we offer an As-Found/As-Left option. We perform an initial 10-point calibration as-received, then conduct the full environmental verification protocol. After any adjustments, we perform the final As-Left calibration, providing definitive, auditable proof of corrective action.
