Our Capabilities
Torque Transducer Calibration Services:
Accredited calibration services are available for torque transducers of virtually any manufacture (subject to ability to mount the unit into our calibration stands); within the ranges of 10 ozf-in to 4,000,000 lbf-in. Different types of calibrations are offered as described below:
- 10 point calibration
Transducer is loaded and data taken at ten points in both increasing and decreasing load directions. (Actual number of points may vary based upon available weight increments). Loading and data will be both in the CW and CCW directions. - 10 point calibration, as found/as left
Two ten point calibrations are performed, first with the unit as received, the second after any repairs, adjustments or modifications are performed. Both as found and as left data are provided.
For torque transducers of S. Himmelstein and Company manufacture only:
- 10 point calibration with temperature compensation
Prior to calibration, the unit is cycled through elevated temperatures, +75 to +175 deg F, to verify temperature performance of the strain gage bridge. If necessary, compensation techniques will be applied to bring results into acceptable criteria. Transducer will also be run at its’ maximum rated speed for 30 minutes to confirm no output variations caused by speed. Finally, the ten point calibration will be performed as described above. - 10 point calibration, as found/as left with temperature compensation
Initial as received ten point calibration performed, then temperature testing and speed run. After changes and modifications, as left ten point dead weight calibration is completed.
Speed (rpm) Calibration Services:
Accredited speed calibrations are available for speeds from 900 rpm to 10,000 rpm. Measured speed is compared to that from a precision/high resolution encoder. For the standard speed calibration, three data points are taken; 900 rpm, maximum rated rpm of the transducer, and one point halfway between.
mV/V Calibration Services:
Precision calibration of mV/V output devices is available from 0.5 mV/V to 5.0 mV/V.
